This episode we sit down with Corey Paulson, owner of Perrine Man Press along with his wife Kenji. Corey walks us through the journey of faith they had to embark on to found Perrine Man and then grow it to what it is today.

0:27 Zach (Host): This is Ruckus Makers, a show about entrepreneurs, where the mission matters and the status quo isn't an option.
0:32 Zach (Host): I'm your host, Zach Rinard, and in today's episode, we're talking with Corey Paulson about his outdoor apparel company that is taking Idaho by storm and what it means to be made for more.
0:42 Corey (Guest): We are a local t-shirt shop in apparel and quality goods.
0:49 Corey (Guest): You know, we're kind of always expanding into other things, but one of the cool things about Perrine Man is we actually hand draw every logo.
0:58 Corey (Guest): And not me, my stick figures wouldn't make the shirts, but someday, maybe I'll throw one of those on there.
1:03 Corey (Guest): But my wife is actually the artist, and so she does an awesome job.
1:07 Corey (Guest): And then we hand print everything.
1:10 Corey (Guest): We're Idaho kids, both of us grew up in Idaho.
1:15 Corey (Guest): And yeah, it's kind of a fun little, I don't know, I love it, actually.
1:20 Corey (Guest): And I love getting to be part of the community, and I love vision.
1:25 Corey (Guest): I am a vision guy, and then kind of how do you make vision happen?
1:29 Corey (Guest): And when people ask you, what are you going to do with an art degree?
1:32 Corey (Guest): You got to have some vision.
1:35 Corey (Guest): So
1:35 Zach (Host): you have an art degree,
1:36 Zach (Host): I didn't realize that.
1:36 Zach (Host): Not me, Kenji.
1:38 Zach (Host): Kenji
1:38 Corey (Guest): has an art degree.
1:40 Corey (Guest): And so when we were in college sitting at Java, talking about it, when people would go, what are you going to do with that?
1:47 Corey (Guest): And she would answer, I have no idea.
1:50 Corey (Guest): I just feel called to do it.
1:52 Corey (Guest): Actually, that's kind of where Perrine Man, maybe the actual idea of the store and everything started, because we were sitting there and she was a little discouraged because so many people were asking her that.
2:03 Corey (Guest): And as her friend, we weren't even dating at the time, I said, you know, you should make me a really cool hand-drawn T-shirt.
2:12 Corey (Guest): And kind of grew into, she ended up dreaming up and drawing a picture of a store.
2:18 Corey (Guest): And it was her outdoorsy, cool T-shirt store that she drew all the T-shirts for.
2:24 Corey (Guest): And we had had this big, long conversation about that at Java, and then she drew a picture of what it could look like.
2:31 Corey (Guest): And so it was kind of fun, because Perrine Man's definitely started in college.
2:36 Corey (Guest): So yeah.
2:36 Zach (Host): Interesting.
2:37 Zach (Host): Okay, what year was that?
2:38 Corey (Guest): Oh man, that's a good question.
2:41 Corey (Guest): Let's see.
2:43 Corey (Guest): Probably, probably that was in 09, I would think.
2:48 Zach (Host): Is
2:48 Corey (Guest): the seed was planted.
2:51 Zach (Host): And you met Kenji, which is your wife, does a lot of the art.
2:55 Zach (Host): How did you meet her?
2:58 Corey (Guest): Well, playing Ultimate Frisbee, seriously.
3:02 Corey (Guest): Yeah, some intramural Ultimate Frisbee.
3:04 Corey (Guest): We're hanging out and we were just friends.
3:07 Corey (Guest): And so it was a cool deal.
3:09 Corey (Guest): We kind of got into the same group of friends.
3:12 Corey (Guest): And I don't know, it was just exciting and fun and new and a bunch of cool friends, yeah.
3:18 Zach (Host): Yeah, and what were you doing for work in 09?
3:20 Zach (Host): You said you were going to college.
3:21 Zach (Host): Were you working at the time
3:21 Speaker 3: as well?
3:21 Zach (Host): Yeah,
3:22 Corey (Guest): I worked at the Boys and Girls Club during the school year.
3:25 Corey (Guest): And in the summer, I think that summer I worked for Idaho Transportation Department.
3:31 Corey (Guest): So, fun, fun.
3:32 Zach (Host): Oh yeah,
3:33 Corey (Guest): I mowed rest areas, seriously.
3:37 Zach (Host): Seriously, okay.
3:38 Corey (Guest): It was actually a great job because I got onto a big podcast kick.
3:43 Corey (Guest): Because podcasts were like really kind of new.
3:45 Corey (Guest): And I would drive like four hours of my day was driving to all these rest areas and then mowing the lawns.
3:53 Corey (Guest): And so it was kind of a good gig actually.
3:56 Corey (Guest): So I loved it.
3:57 Zach (Host): Yeah, funny around that time as well I started listening to podcasts.
4:03 Zach (Host): I remember talking to friends being like, hey, have you listened to something like this?
4:06 Zach (Host): And not a lot of people were listening to them.
4:09 Zach (Host): And nowadays they're kind of everywhere.
4:11 Corey (Guest): Yeah, I'm fairly certain I was downloading them onto my iPod and then listening to them.
4:16 Corey (Guest): There
4:16 Zach (Host): you go, there you go.
4:18 Zach (Host): It was a
4:18 Corey (Guest): different world.
4:19 Zach (Host): No, that's awesome.
4:20 Zach (Host): So you met Kenji, you were friends at the time drinking lots of coffee at Java.
4:26 Zach (Host): I always see you at Java.
4:27 Zach (Host): Still happening, love those guys.
4:29 Zach (Host): They're good and drink a lot of coffee, which is great.
4:33 Zach (Host): So how did things progress?
4:35 Zach (Host): So you were just friends and how did she move forward in the art side of things and drawing that store?
4:41 Corey (Guest): Yeah, she was really talented.
4:43 Corey (Guest): I actually think the store thing was for a project for a class.
4:47 Corey (Guest): So she had to make up a business and because we had kind of had that coffee talk, that's what she made for her business in one of her college classes.
4:56 Corey (Guest): And I thought that was such a cool idea.
4:58 Corey (Guest): And she always said it was her outdoorsy shop.
5:01 Corey (Guest): And I always just wanted to be an encourager and cheer her on with that.
5:05 Corey (Guest): And then Kenji's heart, as you kind of get through school and figure it out, you don't know right away, right?
5:14 Corey (Guest): And so part of our heart is like, what do you do in life to not just work?
5:23 Corey (Guest): We don't wanna live to work, we wanna work to live and what's our purpose?
5:28 Corey (Guest): And we always wanted our purpose to be more than just a nine to five.
5:32 Corey (Guest): And it can be simple things, even like Kenji, one of her dreams was like, I wanna be a stay at home mom partially.
5:38 Corey (Guest): I want that to be a part of my heart because her mom was such an awesome mom to her.
5:43 Corey (Guest): And she wanted to be that for our kiddos someday.
5:47 Corey (Guest): And so art actually, even though it's the same thing that everybody said, what would you do with an art degree?
5:52 Corey (Guest): It's become the way she gets to be a stay at home mom, which is kind of special for us.
5:58 Corey (Guest): And then hard work outdoes talent.
6:04 Corey (Guest): And I will say Kenji has both of those.
6:07 Corey (Guest): So that's kind of special and I'm so proud of her.
6:10 Corey (Guest): And I think what she needed from me was maybe to like speak vision and then help go, okay, how do we make this happen?
6:17 Corey (Guest): But it didn't just happen right after college.
6:19 Corey (Guest): We actually like moved away for three years and we worked in Alaska because we needed a little adventure in life.
6:29 Corey (Guest): And we had just gotten married and in our first year of marriage, we went up there and we worked for a whale watching company and then kind of expanded into like all kinds of tours and helicopter tours.
6:40 Zach (Host): And so what'd you do for the whale watching company?
6:42 Corey (Guest): We were like, I don't even know what the real job title really was, but we were like, we were tour like brokers.
6:51 Corey (Guest): So in Juneau, Alaska, this is crazy, right?
6:54 Corey (Guest): You
6:55 Zach (Host): didn't know we were gonna talk about this.
6:57 Corey (Guest): Yeah, so in Juneau, Alaska, they have cruise ships come in every day in a normal year.
7:03 Corey (Guest): And these cruise ships, like they bring in like, I don't know, 1,500 to 4,500 people per ship.
7:12 Corey (Guest): And like on Tuesdays, there's six ships.
7:15 Corey (Guest): So there's a lot of people doing tours every day.
7:18 Corey (Guest): And so we did that for a couple of years.
7:20 Corey (Guest): It was an awesome like summer gig that we did for a few years.
7:24 Corey (Guest): But that whole time, Kendra was like dreaming up like, what if we like started our own business someday?
7:31 Corey (Guest): And I was dreaming it up too, for sure.
7:33 Corey (Guest): But you know, kind of different seasons.
7:36 Zach (Host): I think that's kind of interesting throughout your story is she had this basis of creativity and art, right?
7:43 Zach (Host): And you know, I see you kind of in the store a lot.
7:47 Zach (Host): And would you say you're more of an entrepreneur or is she an entrepreneur?
7:52 Corey (Guest): She's more art, she's the artist.
7:54 Corey (Guest): So she loves to draw, but here's what Kendra's so good at.
8:00 Corey (Guest): She is willing to trust and say yes.
8:04 Corey (Guest): And so when we'd have an idea, it wouldn't matter if I had like a craziest idea ever, like let's go to Alaska.
8:10 Corey (Guest): She says, yeah, I trust you, let's do it.
8:14 Corey (Guest): And so it's fun because I think I'll probably be more, I'm more the entrepreneur, but then I'll pitch an idea and then I'll get cold feet a little bit.
8:25 Corey (Guest): And she's like, no, we're doing this,
8:27 Zach (Host): yeah.
8:27 Corey (Guest): It's a fun idea.
8:28 Corey (Guest): And so we're like a good team because I enjoy vision and the business side and all of that, where she is like, she gets to be the artist.
8:37 Corey (Guest): And I know it's hard for couples to work together sometimes and that's totally fine, but she is like, she's so great to work with.
8:46 Corey (Guest): Like I actually love working with her.
8:48 Corey (Guest): There's some things you have to establish if you're gonna do that.
8:51 Zach (Host): Like
8:51 Corey (Guest): you have to be correctable and it can't
8:54 Zach (Host): be
8:55 Corey (Guest): personal,
8:55 Zach (Host): which that's a hard thing to learn in life, right?
8:57 Corey (Guest): Like I, as a 20 year old was definitely not very correctable person.
9:02 Corey (Guest): And so we talk about in our crew at Perrine Man, we talk about there's beauty and humble confidence.
9:09 Corey (Guest): So be humble and be confident.
9:12 Corey (Guest): And I don't think people put those words together very often, but we kind of try and push that as part of our culture.
9:19 Corey (Guest): And so, yeah.
9:20 Zach (Host): Well, confidence can be viewed as prideful a lot of times.
9:26 Zach (Host): And I think the difference to your point is being able to be teachable and be correctable.
9:31 Zach (Host): Because you can be confident and teachable at the same time.
9:34 Zach (Host): Yeah.
9:34 Zach (Host): I think that's awesome.
9:36 Zach (Host): You keep using the word vision a lot.
9:39 Zach (Host): I love vision, but what is Corey Paulson's definition of vision?
9:44 Zach (Host): What does that mean to you?
9:45 Zach (Host): And what does that look like?
9:46 Corey (Guest): You know, oh man, that's a big question.
9:50 Corey (Guest): So my definition of vision, like on my wall in the back, it says like made for more, okay?
9:58 Corey (Guest): And the reason it says that is because I believe that about everybody.
10:05 Corey (Guest): Like I don't wanna settle.
10:08 Corey (Guest): And so part of my heart is like how do you get people to flourish?
10:14 Corey (Guest): And I think that's a big part of vision for me.
10:16 Corey (Guest): So like how do I, as a husband, how do I honor my wife?
10:19 Corey (Guest): And how do I get her into a place where she flourishes in her art?
10:23 Corey (Guest): And so, I mean, Perrine Man started on a napkin, right?
10:27 Corey (Guest): Like let's just, like seriously.
10:29 Corey (Guest): That's like, it's not just like the cliche story.
10:33 Corey (Guest): Like we literally like started some of those drawings on a napkin.
10:37 Corey (Guest): And then I love when people are in their wheelhouse.
10:40 Corey (Guest): Like, and I think it's hard to get people there.
10:43 Corey (Guest): And I think it's hard to get me there.
10:45 Corey (Guest): Like I'm in my own way sometimes.
10:49 Corey (Guest): So for me, vision is about how do we get people into that place of flourishing?
10:53 Corey (Guest): And even our customers, like I want them to flourish.
10:55 Corey (Guest): And I love, I love this part for sure.
11:01 Corey (Guest): That's part of my like, oh, I like talking to people.
11:04 Corey (Guest): I enjoy it.
11:04 Corey (Guest): And sometimes I don't even know what to say or I feel whatever, but I enjoy it.
11:09 Corey (Guest): And I want people to know like, you know, even our first core value, okay, Perrine Man is kindness.
11:16 Corey (Guest): And people are like, wait, that's your first business core value?
11:18 Corey (Guest): And there's some people who've spoken into my life about this.
11:22 Corey (Guest): And they're really brilliant business people because I want to get wisdom, okay?
11:27 Corey (Guest): Because I don't have it all.
11:29 Corey (Guest): So I've really asked a lot of questions and tried to learn a lot.
11:31 Corey (Guest): But my first core value at Perrine Man is kindness.
11:34 Corey (Guest): And I tell customers even this, and I say like, hey, it's not because you're always right, because you're not, but it's because you're always valuable.
11:43 Corey (Guest): And I want to treat you like you're valuable.
11:44 Corey (Guest): And I believe you have value.
11:46 Corey (Guest): And then also every workplace has drama.
11:49 Corey (Guest): So if kindness can be one of our core values, like all of our crew has permission to be like, hey, Corey, kindness between me and them, between them and each other.
12:01 Corey (Guest): Like everybody has permission to remind each other of kindness because it's one of our culture core values.
12:08 Corey (Guest): And then the last one's like to yourself, like who's your worst critic?
12:14 Corey (Guest): And I found myself like, you know, you mess up a couple shirts while you're printing on that manual screen printing press setup.
12:23 Corey (Guest): And it's funny that a couple shirts can like ruin your day if
12:28 Zach (Host): you're not
12:28 Corey (Guest): careful. Oh man, I think we all do it though, right?
12:32 Corey (Guest): Like you can just be so fresh.
12:33 Corey (Guest): And I was like, okay, we got to stop doing that.
12:36 Corey (Guest): Like own it, fix it and move on.
12:39 Corey (Guest): Like stop being so critical.
12:42 Corey (Guest): And I don't know,
12:43 Corey (Guest): I don't, like everybody has their theories of why maybe we're like that a little bit.
12:48 Corey (Guest): Maybe social media, we always look at somebody's highlight reel.
12:51 Corey (Guest): And so we're critical of ourselves and we go, oh, if only I had that story or that or whatever.
12:58 Corey (Guest): But I actually think sometimes it's as simple as being like, it's all good.
13:02 Corey (Guest): Like I can be kind to myself even when I mess up.
13:06 Corey (Guest): And so, yeah.
13:07 Zach (Host): One of the definitions of kindness that Craig Groeschel says this, and kind of Dave Ramsey says this as well, but he says to be clear is to be kind.
13:18 Zach (Host): Do you agree with that?
13:20 Zach (Host): Cause that doesn't say be nice.
13:22 Zach (Host): You know, it says bring clarity into that.
13:25 Corey (Guest): Yeah, I mean, I think there's probably lots of pieces of it.
13:29 Corey (Guest): I think those guys are wise guys.
13:31 Corey (Guest): I listen to Craig Groeschel's leadership podcast sometimes.
13:34 Corey (Guest): So
13:34 Zach (Host): that's cool that
13:35 Corey (Guest): you bring him up.
13:36 Corey (Guest): And I didn't even, yeah, I know you're going to bring that up.
13:38 Corey (Guest): But anyways, he does a great job at thinking deeply about it, but making it simple.
13:46 Corey (Guest): And so I think with his role in life, that makes a lot of sense to me that he would see that.
13:52 Corey (Guest): For me, I think it's for me partly like, and that there's maybe something I need to clarify.
14:01 Corey (Guest): Maybe I need to be more clear, but I would say it's more for me like, I don't even want it to just be like treat others like you want to be treated.
14:10 Corey (Guest): I want it to be like, like honor others, like above yourself, like
14:14 Zach (Host): serve. Yeah,
14:16 Corey (Guest): and so if I can be doing that and even like somebody needs a day off, it's like, hey, ask, like let's, even if it's a bad timing, like literally somebody just called me on my walk over here.
14:29 Corey (Guest): It's like, hey, can I take Friday?
14:32 Corey (Guest): And I was like, well, this person's already taking it off.
14:35 Corey (Guest): And then they're like, oh man, I really could use it.
14:39 Corey (Guest): And it's like, okay, I just asked them like, so how can we make it work?
14:44 Corey (Guest): Like, how can we make it work if you need Friday?
14:47 Corey (Guest): And sometimes, like obviously I could just be like, no.
14:51 Corey (Guest): Right.
14:51 Corey (Guest): But in my heart, that's not very kind.
14:53 Corey (Guest): Like maybe I can figure out a way.
14:56 Corey (Guest): So that's
14:56 Zach (Host): part of it for me.
14:58 Zach (Host): That's really interesting.
14:58 Zach (Host): It's an attitude.
14:59 Zach (Host): Do you have more core values?
15:01 Corey (Guest): Yeah, yeah.
15:03 Corey (Guest): You know, I really believe in like being, I almost don't like saying it, but it's the way I say it still, but it's like, I want us to be positive people.
15:15 Corey (Guest): So tone sets tone.
15:18 Corey (Guest): And that's just a fact.
15:20 Corey (Guest): Like I can show you with my three and a half year old, like tone sets tone.
15:24 Corey (Guest): I promise.
15:25 Zach (Host): I know you're right.
15:26 Zach (Host): I mess mine up every day.
15:28 Corey (Guest): So I'm just like, okay, like how I say like, how I say something like matters.
15:35 Corey (Guest): And so I think being positive is important.
15:39 Corey (Guest): Being productive, like it's massive for us.
15:42 Corey (Guest): Like you have to produce.
15:43 Corey (Guest): Like if we're all, you know, and if we're all carrying something together, it doesn't matter if there's five of us or 10 of us or whatever.
15:51 Corey (Guest): Like, and I'm not even saying everybody carries the same weight.
15:54 Corey (Guest): Like that's not real life.
15:56 Corey (Guest): Like not everybody carries the same weight, but everybody has to carry weight.
16:00 Corey (Guest): Like
16:00 Zach (Host): we
16:01 Corey (Guest): all have to produce.
16:02 Corey (Guest): Otherwise it doesn't work.
16:03 Corey (Guest): And we want it to work well.
16:06 Corey (Guest): And we want, the other one is like excellence.
16:09 Corey (Guest): And so I want to do things with excellence.
16:12 Corey (Guest): Like I don't want to sell people shirts that we mess up.
16:16 Corey (Guest): Like even people want us to do a bargain bin sometimes.
16:20 Corey (Guest): And I'm like, I wrestle with that.
16:23 Corey (Guest): Cause I'm like, I don't want to do that.
16:26 Corey (Guest): But I don't know.
16:28 Corey (Guest): I mean, it's good still.
16:30 Corey (Guest): Like I also like getting a good deal.
16:32 Corey (Guest): So, you know, sometimes it's good to get a good deal if you can balance it right.
16:37 Corey (Guest): But yeah, I mean, I believe in excellence and that's actually pretty much all of our core values.
16:43 Corey (Guest): And then, you know, I believe in like pouring into each other, you know.
16:47 Corey (Guest): Every Wednesday morning, our whole crew is invited to coffee and we have coffee together before work starts.
16:54 Corey (Guest): And the only rule is nobody's supposed to talk about work.
16:59 Zach (Host): That is awesome.
17:00 Zach (Host): So is that like, my mind goes to team building or are
17:04 Zach (Host): you just trying to build culture and build relationships and invest in people?
17:08 Corey (Guest): I mean, I want to, I want, I didn't.
17:12 Corey (Guest): So you talked earlier, like when we were just chatting, it's like, you talk about people see something as it blew up and they think it blew up overnight 20 years later.
17:21 Corey (Guest): And the truth is, is like, for me, I want to build wisely and I can't do it alone.
17:29 Corey (Guest): So if I can pour into people who are doing life with me, I really believe that that's going to be huge for our longevity, for our success, for a lot of pieces of it, you know, so.
17:47 Zach (Host): We're, I'm going to, I'm going
17:48 Zach (Host): to ask a question and I'm going to jump ahead in the timeline a little bit, but where do you see Perrine Man in the future?
17:54 Zach (Host): Like, I can see in your eyes, you're dreaming big.
17:57 Zach (Host): What are those dreams?
17:58 Zach (Host): Oh,
17:59 Corey (Guest): well, I can't share too much, you know, but no, I have ideas.
18:03 Corey (Guest): I mean, I want to, obviously, how do you continue doing something well?
18:08 Corey (Guest): I think people will figure it out for a season and then they like forget how to continue it.
18:13 Corey (Guest): So I want to continue, like stay the course on some level, but then on other things, like definitely have some vision and other ideas.
18:23 Corey (Guest): I mean, Made For More, that thing I talked about earlier, I'd love to do like a nonprofit called that as a side company for Perrine Man and it'd still be Perrine Man, but like, it's like a side gig where the coffee, like the coffee beans that are in our shop, actually a friend of ours that I met speaking at a little conference, he went to Fiji to build some houses and he saw how impoverished Fiji was.
18:50 Corey (Guest): And I always imagined Fiji as like big hotels and awesome ocean and all that.
18:56 Corey (Guest): And he goes, dude, it's so third world, like it's crazy.
19:00 Corey (Guest): And he, at that time, didn't have the idea he has now, but he was like, I want to do something to help these people like make it, because there's no jobs.
19:11 Corey (Guest): And they make between two and $10 a day for like a 10 or 12 hour day.
19:15 Corey (Guest): And so he had this cool, some cool people help him, like a crew of people.
19:21 Corey (Guest): They kept seeing all this wild coffee all over and they pay these people to pick these coffee beans and they dry them there and they ship them to Park City of all places and they roast them in Park City.
19:35 Corey (Guest): And he pays them better than fair trade.
19:37 Corey (Guest): And his heart is to like restore the family unit in Fiji partly.
19:41 Corey (Guest): And I love that.
19:44 Corey (Guest): And so I've really, I carry his coffee, I give it away every day.
19:48 Corey (Guest): So
19:48 Zach (Host): we just brew it and
19:49 Corey (Guest): serve it, it's free.
19:50 Corey (Guest): And then you can buy his beans and we just do it because like,
19:53 Corey (Guest): I believe in what he's doing.
19:54 Corey (Guest): Like that matters and it's valuable.
19:56 Corey (Guest): And so I, like Perrine Man already gets to do some of that, but I mean, actually even one of my goals was to take our whole crew and like, I think it'd be crazy to have a sign on my door saying, hey, Perrine Man's closed.
20:10 Corey (Guest): We went to Fiji to build a couple of houses as best we can, not that we do all the work, we just serve a little bit and they're doing most of the work.
20:18 Corey (Guest): But if you could help do some of that and just like go do things that matter.
20:23 Corey (Guest): And so that's one thing I wanna do.
20:25 Corey (Guest): And I have this crazy idea that we're just gonna go and close the shop for a week and have a sign on the door and everybody's gonna be like, they're in Fiji as a whole crew.
20:33 Corey (Guest): That's so
20:34 Zach (Host): crazy. I love that idea.
20:37 Zach (Host): It's really interesting.
20:38 Zach (Host): One thing at our company is we're trying to introduce rhythms of rest.
20:41 Zach (Host): And there's a local restaurant here in Twin Falls that literally they put a sign on their door and they say, it's family vacation.
20:50 Zach (Host): We're out for two weeks.
20:51 Zach (Host): See ya.
20:51 Zach (Host): Wow,
20:52 Corey (Guest): yeah.
20:52 Zach (Host): And every time I go there and I want their food and I see that sign, I'm slightly frustrated.
20:57 Zach (Host): But at the same time, I'm so proud of them for saying we're out.
21:01 Zach (Host): Thank you for being great customers.
21:02 Zach (Host): We're gonna go rest.
21:03 Zach (Host): Yeah.
21:04 Zach (Host): And so I love that idea of taking your team to Fiji and obviously doing some mission work.
21:09 Zach (Host): I think that's great.
21:09 Zach (Host): Yeah, yeah.
21:11 Corey (Guest): So that's some of Perrine Man's vision is how do we, I mean, it's awesome to succeed at things and all that, but it's like, what's your why?
21:22 Corey (Guest): If it's all for naught, I don't know.
21:25 Corey (Guest): I wanna have a why.
21:27 Corey (Guest): I do believe God calls us to be people who live like that.
21:34 Corey (Guest): And even in the simple, yeah, Fiji's like, oh, wow, what if they did that?
21:38 Corey (Guest): And maybe it'll never, I mean, hopefully it will.
21:40 Corey (Guest): But in the simple version, it's like, hey, my little boy is four.
21:45 Corey (Guest): He's turning four and he has a soccer game.
21:48 Corey (Guest): I'm so sorry I have nobody cover the shop right now.
21:51 Corey (Guest): We're closed for a second.
21:53 Corey (Guest): I love my boy and I wanna support him.
21:56 Corey (Guest): And I think that's valuable and important to me.
22:01 Corey (Guest): And my hope is that if we can, hopefully that can rub off even in our community and our culture.
22:10 Corey (Guest): And it's not that we don't value the people walking in.
22:13 Corey (Guest): We love people walking in, but we wanna even promote the idea that like, hey, please come back in an hour.
22:19 Corey (Guest): His game's 45 minutes.
22:21 Zach (Host): You know, like, we'll be right
22:22 Corey (Guest): back, you know?
22:24 Corey (Guest): And I think that's a cool thing that I wanna try and be committed to.
22:28 Corey (Guest): It's like, what matters and what's our why in life?
22:32 Zach (Host): So how many hours a week do you work then?
22:37 Corey (Guest): A lot,
22:38 Zach (Host): I
22:38 Corey (Guest): mean, you put in, it depends on the week.
22:41 Corey (Guest): I mean, I do have a goal, like let's try and keep it at 50 or whatever, but that's not real all the time.
22:50 Corey (Guest): Sometimes we'll do, sometimes I'll work a 40 hour week.
22:53 Corey (Guest): This is, and people exaggerate about how many hours we work as I don't know why we do that sometimes, but there's times when shows were going big.
23:02 Corey (Guest): Cause we were, when Prime Men started in 2017, we would do like one to two shows a month.
23:08 Corey (Guest): So we'd be at Boise Art in the Park or Ketchum Arts Festival or Pocatello Spring Fair or McCall, you know, and we're at all these events, like one a month and those shows, you work all day for three days.
23:22 Corey (Guest): So you kind of work like three, 12 hour days, but you also set up for four hours-ish, three to four hours and tear down for, tear down's a little faster cause you're just hucking stuff back
23:32 Zach (Host): into boxes and let's
23:33 Corey (Guest): get out of here after you just worked your tail off.
23:36 Corey (Guest): But it's like when you work 40 hours or 50 hours and then you go do a show and then you get back and then you work 40 hours, it's a long week.
23:47 Corey (Guest): So sometimes you work a lot more.
23:49 Corey (Guest): And that's the thing is like, you gotta make it work and you gotta complete projects, but you also do have to rest.
23:58 Corey (Guest): And so balancing that's probably an ongoing piece of the pie.
24:03 Zach (Host): I was listening to a podcast today that they use the phrase intentionally out of balance.
24:11 Zach (Host): And I thought that was so unique because it was the idea that you would go and choose to do those shows, right?
24:17 Zach (Host): Because you knew that you were sacrificing now so that later you could go to that soccer game, you know?
24:23 Zach (Host): And I think entrepreneurs are beautiful that way.
24:26 Zach (Host): Like, I think it's interesting how they can make those situations and those equations in their head and say, I'm going to sacrifice for this later.
24:34 Zach (Host): I just think that's unique.
24:35 Zach (Host): It's fun to see you do that and kind of explain that a little bit.
24:38 Corey (Guest): Yeah, it's fun.
24:39 Corey (Guest): And yeah, like, I don't want, I don't know, I don't even know how to explain it all the way, but it's like, I don't want to not work.
24:47 Corey (Guest): Like, I actually like, I really will say like, I love my job, like I really do.
24:53 Corey (Guest): And there's hard things with it.
24:54 Corey (Guest): I sat with an accountant for four hours the other day and I'm like, yay, you know?
24:59 Corey (Guest): He's a really nice guy too, I really like him, but like not always stoked about some of that stuff.
25:04 Corey (Guest): But you, you know, like you said, I mean, last night I worked late because my family, like my in-law, they came down and we like, I took a couple of days off at the end of last week.
25:18 Corey (Guest): So then I was like, hey, I'm going to work late for like four days this week, just so everybody knows.
25:23 Zach (Host): And
25:23 Corey (Guest): clarity, I guess that
25:24 Zach (Host): is
25:25 Corey (Guest): a kindness because good communication and clarity.
25:27 Corey (Guest): So yeah, I mean, I had to remind Ken yesterday, like, hey, by the way, remember I'm working till, yeah, a little bit,
25:35 Corey (Guest): a couple of extra hours every day just to make sure we get everything done that needs to get done.
25:40 Zach (Host): Yeah, no, I appreciate that, it's always a good thing.
25:42 Zach (Host): It's always good when the leader jumps in and you know, does something, I think that's great.
25:46 Zach (Host): Yeah.
25:46 Zach (Host): Let's jump back to, so Alaska, what year was that?
25:50 Corey (Guest): Oh man, I, so probably 2011, 2012, and 2013, those summers I think, if I'm remembering right.
26:01 Zach (Host): Okay, so you moved back to Twin Falls from Alaska.
26:04 Zach (Host): What'd you do after that?
26:06 Corey (Guest): We're only there five months at a time.
26:07 Corey (Guest): Five months, okay.
26:08 Corey (Guest): Okay, so it's kind of crazy, but you work like, you want to talk about people who work like a lot up there.
26:15 Corey (Guest): You work as many days as you can.
26:16 Corey (Guest): So we would work and then you have to rest.
26:19 Corey (Guest): Like you can't function for a month probably, and
26:22 Zach (Host): then
26:22 Corey (Guest): you kind of figure it out.
26:23 Corey (Guest): But we would move back in the off season.
26:25 Corey (Guest): And, but it was like, I was making more money doing the Alaska thing than I was like with any jobs with my degree for a little bit there.
26:35 Corey (Guest): And obviously you work into degrees and jobs and all that stuff, but it was like such a cool gig for a while, and we got to travel a little bit in the off seasons and all that.
26:44 Corey (Guest): And then when we came back, we'd really been praying like, okay, I have this, and I don't even, I guess I haven't, I didn't think we were gonna talk about this, sorry.
26:55 Zach (Host): That's
26:55 Corey (Guest): good, anyways, but we have this thing where we would go up there and then we would just like pray about something cool to do in the off season.
27:04 Corey (Guest): And then kind of trying to figure out like, what are we gonna do with our lives, right?
27:08 Corey (Guest): Because as young, like just graduated, don't know what to do all the way.
27:14 Corey (Guest): Not like a specialized degree by any means.
27:18 Corey (Guest): What is your degree in?
27:20 Corey (Guest): Liberal arts.
27:21 Corey (Guest): Liberal
27:21 Zach (Host): arts,
27:21 Corey (Guest): there
27:21 Zach (Host): you go.
27:22 Zach (Host): I mean, you have an art company, outdoors company.
27:25 Corey (Guest): Yeah, but my liberal arts has nothing to do with an art degree.
27:28 Corey (Guest): Like Kenj has commercial and fine art, two degrees of those.
27:31 Corey (Guest): But like, yeah, liberal art.
27:33 Corey (Guest): Mine is kind of like, I did all my gen eds.
27:36 Corey (Guest): There
27:36 Zach (Host): you go.
27:36 Corey (Guest): I did it, I don't know.
27:38 Corey (Guest): And then I was tired of it and didn't know what I wanted to do with my life.
27:43 Corey (Guest): But anyways, we like, before we went to Alaska, we'd just really been praying like, like what do we do in this season?
27:50 Corey (Guest): And I really believe in like, like enjoying like seasons.
27:56 Corey (Guest): So I try, not that I'm perfect about it, but I try not to be a person who's like, oh, if only I could get to here.
28:03 Corey (Guest): I really think that that like, is a bad mentality that we kind of almost teach.
28:09 Corey (Guest): And so I really believe in going like, like what is the like best thing I could be doing right now?
28:17 Corey (Guest): And sometimes the best thing I could be doing right now is like the dishes, like true story.
28:21 Corey (Guest): Like love my wife by doing some dishes.
28:24 Corey (Guest): And like, if I know that that's like the best thing to be doing, that's what I want to try and be doing.
28:29 Corey (Guest): So I tell you that, cause I was like, that was my prayer graduating college.
28:33 Corey (Guest): I was like, what can I be doing?
28:34 Corey (Guest): And honestly, I knew what I needed then was rest cause I worked all through college and I was burnt out.
28:41 Corey (Guest): And I thought I was going to come back and go back to school or something.
28:46 Corey (Guest): And really felt like God had guided us to Alaska.
28:49 Corey (Guest): And then I had this awesome job where we made good money and you work your tail off and make pretty good money up there.
28:56 Corey (Guest): And then felt like we did really like flourished in our jobs and it was good.
29:01 Corey (Guest): And then I just, I really was sensing and I didn't want to tell Kenji, but I was like, I don't know if we're supposed to come back next year.
29:09 Corey (Guest): And
29:09 Zach (Host): this is funny,
29:10 Corey (Guest): okay. Cause I'm like, I'm really pondering.
29:13 Corey (Guest): I'm like, it's, I have such a good gig.
29:15 Corey (Guest): Like I get half the year off, like to do whatever I want.
29:18 Corey (Guest): You know, and we're like, marriage is good.
29:21 Corey (Guest): Life is good.
29:21 Corey (Guest): We're like, we'd bought a house in twin.
29:24 Corey (Guest): We actually owned a home here, but we worked up there and still the same house we live in now.
29:31 Corey (Guest): But anyways, we, as I was like praying, I really felt like it was going to be my last year.
29:37 Corey (Guest): And then she came to me like, and goes, Hey, I need to talk to you.
29:41 Corey (Guest): And she's like, I've been praying.
29:43 Corey (Guest): And I really feel like we're supposed to go home and not come back next year.
29:48 Corey (Guest): And then I, I not argued, but I reasoned with her of all the way, all the reasons why that's not a good idea.
29:54 Corey (Guest): And I was like, well, what about this?
29:56 Corey (Guest): What about this?
29:56 Corey (Guest): What about this?
29:57 Corey (Guest): And I was like, I'm feeling the same thing by the way.
30:00 Corey (Guest): So I was kind of like throwing her mixed signals,
30:03 Zach (Host): but
30:04 Corey (Guest): then we took the whole off season.
30:05 Corey (Guest): We didn't, I told my boss like, Hey, I might not come back.
30:09 Corey (Guest): But he was like, yeah, right.
30:11 Corey (Guest): Like you'll, you're not going to find anything like this.
30:14 Corey (Guest): Like, this is such a good
30:15 Zach (Host): gig for
30:16 Corey (Guest): you. And it sounds awesome.
30:18 Corey (Guest): I will say like, when I say you work your tail off, like on Tuesdays I would go to work at like five or something around five.
30:25 Corey (Guest): And I would get off at like 830 at night and I hadn't eaten yet.
30:31 Corey (Guest): Like no joke, like Tuesdays was the busiest day of the week.
30:34 Corey (Guest): But I kid you not, like, sometimes you're just like, whoa.
30:38 Corey (Guest): Like, and then you go to bed and dream about selling tours all night.
30:40 Corey (Guest): And
30:41 Zach (Host): you're
30:41 Corey (Guest): like, I didn't rest at all last night.
30:44 Corey (Guest): But anyways, so yeah, it's kind of a crazy weird world up there and cool, but yeah.
30:50 Corey (Guest): So we came back and then I actually called this guy, Ron Heath and was like, Hey, Ron, is there, I don't really like need a bunch of money or anything right now, but I need something to do.
31:02 Corey (Guest): And I was wondering if you guys need any help over at Lighthouse with like high schoolers or youth or if there's any way I could like serve.
31:11 Corey (Guest): And he was like, you know, it's crazy.
31:14 Corey (Guest): We literally had a meeting yesterday that we keep forcing the people who come in and serve.
31:19 Corey (Guest): And he said like, you should come in and talk with me.
31:23 Corey (Guest): And then he told me when we talked, he said that like, they'd been praying that somebody, that like God would bring somebody in to like serve in the high school at Lighthouse.
31:32 Corey (Guest): And so I was like, oh yeah, that's cool.
31:35 Zach (Host): And what was Ron Heath's position there?
31:36 Corey (Guest): Ron's one of the pastors at Lighthouse.
31:39 Zach (Host): Okay, and then, so you went, did you start as a pastor there or were you just volunteering?
31:45 Corey (Guest): I was volunteering, okay.
31:47 Corey (Guest): And so I, actually it was about this time of year that we kind of, I started going to the high school youth group and the guy who was doing it was transitioning out.
32:00 Corey (Guest): And then he was like, not sure when.
32:04 Corey (Guest): And this is kind of a little bit blurry because it was a crazy season of life.
32:07 Corey (Guest): But anyways, pretty much what happened is I had called Ron.
32:10 Corey (Guest): We had this awesome talk and he really wanted me to come and just show up and see what I thought about it.
32:16 Corey (Guest): And then that guy who was doing it, the youth group, was like, hey, can you share?
32:22 Corey (Guest): And
32:22 Zach (Host): I was
32:22 Corey (Guest): like, I don't know.
32:24 Corey (Guest): And
32:24 Zach (Host): he goes, can
32:25 Corey (Guest): you share on Wednesday, like this week?
32:28 Corey (Guest): And I was like, sure.
32:31 Corey (Guest): And it was like my third week there or something.
32:34 Corey (Guest): It was pretty quick and I shared and it was really cool.
32:38 Corey (Guest): And it was like this tiny little group of high schoolers that definitely like, you
32:43 Zach (Host): know,
32:43 Corey (Guest): there's a variety of kids there and it was super cool.
32:48 Corey (Guest): And I really felt like that was where I was supposed to be.
32:51 Zach (Host): And
32:51 Corey (Guest): so I just volunteered for like six months and then they offered me a paid position there.
32:58 Corey (Guest): And then six months after that, they offered me like a salaried, like real position there as the youth guy.
33:06 Corey (Guest): And it was like an awesome five years.
33:09 Corey (Guest): So that was the next five years of my life.
33:11 Zach (Host): Okay, so that was 03 to 08, roughly.
33:14 Corey (Guest): No, 13.
33:16 Corey (Guest): Sorry, 13
33:17 Zach (Host): to 18.
33:17 Zach (Host): That's okay, yeah.
33:19 Corey (Guest): Oh wait, no, we're wrong on dates.
33:20 Corey (Guest): See, I messed this up, I messed it up.
33:22 Corey (Guest): So I finished my time at Lighthouse last July.
33:26 Corey (Guest): Okay.
33:27 Corey (Guest): So through 21, or
33:29 Zach (Host): through
33:29 Corey (Guest): 20, through 20.
33:31 Corey (Guest): So I gave a year's notice in 2019.
33:34 Corey (Guest): Okay.
33:35 Corey (Guest): Yeah.
33:35 Zach (Host): Okay, interesting.
33:36 Zach (Host): So when you started Perrine Man in 2017, so you were pastoring full-time youth kids.
33:42 Zach (Host): I was working full-time,
33:44 Corey (Guest): yeah, yeah.
33:45 Zach (Host): Starting that up.
33:45 Zach (Host): Talk about that a little bit.
33:46 Zach (Host): What was that like when you first started?
33:48 Corey (Guest): You know, this is easy because I know the timeline here.
33:52 Corey (Guest): So Emmett, Kenj was pregnant.
33:54 Corey (Guest): And she was like, hey, remember that thing about me wanting to be a stay-at-home mom someday?
33:59 Corey (Guest): I wanna quit my job and I wanna start the t-shirt thing and I'm pregnant and this is a good time to do it if we're gonna do it.
34:08 Corey (Guest): All at the same time?
34:09 Zach (Host): All
34:09 Corey (Guest): at the same time.
34:10 Corey (Guest): What
34:10 Zach (Host): a
34:11 Corey (Guest): conversation. So I was like, uh, yeah.
34:13 Corey (Guest): And we'd been learning how to screen print with this guy, Brandon, that is like an awesome guy who really had taught us a ton.
34:21 Corey (Guest): And Kenj
34:22 Corey (Guest): was like, let's just make the jump.
34:24 Corey (Guest): And then my response was like, well, that'd be awesome if we could figure out how to make it work, but it's kind of scary.
34:32 Corey (Guest): And she was like, I really think we should do it.
34:35 Corey (Guest): And so she was the one who pitched, let's do it now.
34:39 Corey (Guest): So we'd been talking about it all that time, like from college until we actually got to that place.
34:48 Corey (Guest): But when she was pregnant with Emmett, she really wanted to be able to work and do some of that from home.
34:56 Corey (Guest): So we took a big risk and bought a bunch of equipment and different stuff.
35:03 Corey (Guest): And for a few months, actually, I should rewind.
35:07 Corey (Guest): I really encouraged her, like, hey, could we, could you get four awesome designs that you love and that we love?
35:15 Corey (Guest): Could we work on it?
35:16 Corey (Guest): And so people think you just draw a picture and maybe some people do it this way.
35:20 Corey (Guest): You just draw the picture and then, boom, it's good.
35:23 Corey (Guest): But for us, we draw a picture and then we redraw it and then we redraw it.
35:27 Corey (Guest): And, you know, 25 times later, we're like, that's awesome.
35:32 Corey (Guest): And so we're actually going through that right now.
35:34 Corey (Guest): Me
35:34 Zach (Host): and Perrine Man just wasn't one take, just done.
35:36 Zach (Host): Perrine Man was
35:37 Corey (Guest): not one take.
35:37 Corey (Guest): If you saw the first Perrine Man, you might laugh a little bit because the stick figured bridge that I drew on the guy is pretty horrid, but she made it awesome.
35:47 Zach (Host): Do you still have that, like original
35:48 Zach (Host): one? We
35:48 Corey (Guest): do, we do.
35:49 Corey (Guest): We've actually been working on a thing to get, like, what do we, we wanna put all the originals up on the wall in the store.
35:57 Corey (Guest): That's
35:58 Zach (Host): awesome.
35:58 Corey (Guest): And so even if we, like, aren't pumping that,
36:02 Corey (Guest): this design as much, we still want it and we still wanna be able to print it, but it's like, how do you display everything all the time?
36:09 Corey (Guest): And we've thought it'd be cool to do, like, a canvas or something of every design we've ever done or
36:15 Zach (Host): just
36:15 Corey (Guest): frame the original piece of paper.
36:17 Corey (Guest): Cause they're all out of our sketchbooks.
36:19 Corey (Guest): And so, but yeah, so Ken's drew four awesome designs and we signed up for a show and I was like, well, I guess we're gonna know.
36:28 Corey (Guest): And it's cool.
36:30 Corey (Guest): And we, like I said, like we really believe in like communicating and praying through everything we do.
36:35 Corey (Guest): And we just really felt like it was kind of like, man, we believe we're supposed to do this.
36:41 Corey (Guest): And it was a faith thing.
36:42 Corey (Guest): And you kind of walk through that, through the highs and lows of it.
36:46 Corey (Guest): And we went to that first show and we learned a lot.
36:49 Corey (Guest): We
36:50 Zach (Host): sold
36:50 Corey (Guest): like crazy, but here's the big thing I learned.
36:54 Corey (Guest): I just, I was like, I just want to sell stuff.
36:56 Corey (Guest): So I'm like, what color do you want?
36:58 Corey (Guest): Like I did everything.
37:00 Corey (Guest): So I'm like, you want a blue one of that?
37:02 Corey (Guest): Yeah.
37:03 Corey (Guest): Write their name down, take their money, do all this stuff.
37:07 Corey (Guest): And I just like have this giant list of like specialty things.
37:11 Corey (Guest): Oh,
37:11 Zach (Host): special
37:12 Corey (Guest): orders.
37:12 Zach (Host): Oh my gosh.
37:13 Corey (Guest): And we sold tons of the stuff we had.
37:14 Corey (Guest): Like, that's why I was doing all these specialties.
37:16 Corey (Guest): Cause it's like, oh, we're sold out on that.
37:18 Corey (Guest): Oh yeah.
37:18 Corey (Guest): We don't have any mediums in that.
37:19 Corey (Guest): Oh, we don't have any extra large of that.
37:21 Corey (Guest): And it was like, I felt like I was saying no to everything.
37:23 Corey (Guest): Cause we like, we're so busy the first like day.
37:27 Corey (Guest): So by day two, I'm like, I'm printed all like for three hours after the first day, I like went home and printed for three hours.
37:35 Corey (Guest): Then I had to go sleep and then like get up and go try.
37:37 Corey (Guest): And then we ran out of stuff and I'm like, that's okay.
37:40 Corey (Guest): We'll make it for you.
37:41 Corey (Guest): Yeah.
37:41 Corey (Guest): You want this?
37:42 Corey (Guest): You want this?
37:42 Corey (Guest): And I just said yes to everything.
37:44 Corey (Guest): So for like three weeks after our first show, I was trying to like get everybody their products.
37:49 Corey (Guest): Cause
37:49 Zach (Host): it
37:49 Corey (Guest): took me, I like ordered in print and do all this stuff and make new inks.
37:55 Corey (Guest): And like, cause I just said whatever.
37:57 Corey (Guest): And I'm like, I'm in the garage mixing ink.
37:59 Corey (Guest): Like, okay, that looks like purple.
38:01 Zach (Host): You know,
38:01 Corey (Guest): like.
38:02 Zach (Host): I feel like that's a gift that entrepreneurs have is they look at it and they see the opportunity and they say yes without calculating the cost sometimes.
38:11 Zach (Host): Yeah.
38:11 Zach (Host): And that's, that's so awesome though.
38:13 Corey (Guest): It was fun.
38:14 Zach (Host): Man.
38:15 Zach (Host): And I, so did you, so after that, did you keep doing shows?
38:18 Zach (Host): Is that kind of how Perrine Man sales started growing or?
38:22 Corey (Guest): Yeah, that's definitely how it started growing.
38:24 Corey (Guest): And so that same month I like got on and like built a website and then had some business cards with a website on it.
38:33 Corey (Guest): And then at that show though, somebody said, hey, I'm doing this event and I love your stuff and I'd love for you to come to this event.
38:42 Corey (Guest): It's like invite only.
38:44 Corey (Guest): It's at the Sun Valley Lodge.
38:46 Corey (Guest): I think you'd be a good fit.
38:48 Corey (Guest): And it's in the winter and it's a market and there's not a lot of good winter markets.
38:53 Corey (Guest): So we just said yes.
38:55 Corey (Guest): And so then we went to another event at the Lodge because I think our first show was in November of 2017.
39:03 Corey (Guest): And then in December we did another show.
39:05 Corey (Guest): And then while we were at the show in December, somebody invited us to another show.
39:09 Corey (Guest): Okay.
39:10 Corey (Guest): And so it was kind of a weird thing where I didn't like go like, oh, what are all the best shows?
39:16 Corey (Guest): People would be like, you should come to this.
39:19 Corey (Guest): Or even a customer would be like, hey, have you ever seen this arts festival in Pocatello?
39:23 Corey (Guest): And I'd be like, nope, but I'll try.
39:26 Corey (Guest): And they're kind of expensive to get into sometimes.
39:29 Corey (Guest): And it was just like, you know what?
39:31 Corey (Guest): Let's just see if it works.
39:32 Corey (Guest): And if it doesn't work, we just won't go back.
39:36 Corey (Guest): And then it was like, we would go and we would sell out of a bunch of stuff.
39:39 Corey (Guest): And then we would go, wow, that was a crazy busy weekend.
39:42 Corey (Guest): I got to work all week.
39:43 Corey (Guest): I was like taking vacation days to do shows.
39:47 Zach (Host): Sure, right?
39:48 Zach (Host): Because again, yeah, you're pastoring throughout this whole time.
39:51 Zach (Host): Yeah,
39:51 Corey (Guest): so I had a rule at work, like you can only do one a month.
39:56 Corey (Guest): And then actually what I ended up doing is I would do the one a month and I couldn't be gone on Sunday.
40:02 Corey (Guest): So I would drive back on Sunday, work and then go drive back to wherever the show was.
40:10 Corey (Guest): I'd have somebody else work with Kenji, just good
40:13 Zach (Host): friends.
40:14 Corey (Guest): Honestly, the truth about business is, one of the truths is cool people make it work and good friends make it work.
40:22 Corey (Guest): And so I'm literally like, hey, you want to go be in the booth with Kenji for six hours or eight hours while I go work on Sunday?
40:32 Corey (Guest): And Haley, who works for us, was one of the people I was always calling.
40:37 Corey (Guest): And she works for us now.
40:38 Zach (Host): I was like, how full circle?
40:39 Zach (Host): Now she's down there making t-shirts.
40:40 Zach (Host): Yeah,
40:41 Corey (Guest): and so it's kind of fun that like, she's still a part of it because I was calling her clear back then.
40:47 Zach (Host): So yeah.
40:48 Zach (Host): That's really cool.
40:49 Zach (Host): I mean, like you treat people well along the way.
40:51 Zach (Host): That's my perspective, right?
40:53 Zach (Host): Like you seem to be taking care of your people so well.
40:56 Zach (Host): Like I know quite a few people that work there and all of them love it.
40:59 Zach (Host): They all talk about how they love what they do.
41:02 Zach (Host): And I think when people say they love what they do versus they like what they do, that's a big deal.
41:07 Zach (Host): Kudos to you on that one, obviously you're doing a good job.
41:10 Corey (Guest): They make it easy sometimes.
41:12 Corey (Guest): So I'm probably the hard one sometimes.
41:14 Corey (Guest): So yeah.
41:22 Zach (Host): Let's be honest.
41:23 Zach (Host): When you set out to start your business, you didn't think you'd have to worry so much about your IT.
41:28 Zach (Host): That's why Simplicit is here.
41:30 Zach (Host): Their managed IT solution means you save time, money and stress.
41:34 Zach (Host): Get back to focusing on your business and let Simplicit take care of the rest.
41:38 Zach (Host): Visit simplicittech.com.
41:41 Zach (Host): Owning a business can be stressful and taxing on your mind and body.
41:44 Zach (Host): Every entrepreneur needs rest.
41:46 Zach (Host): Float Magic is the Magic Valley's premier float center where you can recharge and rejuvenate.
41:51 Zach (Host): Book a float today at floatmagicvalley.com.
42:01 Zach (Host): So you have a store downtown, but you were working out of your house.
42:06 Zach (Host): I think my wife had picked up many hats and shirts from Kenji, from Instagram DMs and whatnot.
42:13 Zach (Host): So how did you transition and honestly get the faith to move into retail?
42:19 Corey (Guest): Well, so it's kind of like a long story a little bit, but I'd really been just like having, honestly, I had this like heart for our community and I was like, man, I love Perrine Man and how I get to meet so many people.
42:37 Corey (Guest): Like it opens the door.
42:39 Corey (Guest): Like I talk to people, I mean, you, people are, people live crazy lives and I always just let people come to our house, like your wife and
42:50 Zach (Host): stuff.
42:51 Corey (Guest): So it's like, they're like, hey, and I would just say like, hey, if it's not weird, you're welcome to drop by the house or I'll meet you at the Kmart parking lot back then.
43:00 Corey (Guest): Now it's D and B,
43:02 Zach (Host): which is awesome.
43:03 Corey (Guest): And so, yeah, right.
43:05 Corey (Guest): But we live over there.
43:06 Corey (Guest): And so I would just kind of give the option, like if it's not weird for you, like I'm cool with you dropping by the house.
43:13 Corey (Guest): And cause we print it all in our little shop set up at our house.
43:16 Corey (Guest): So it was easy for people to drop by.
43:18 Corey (Guest): And anyways, yeah, I was working full time and I really was feeling this place of like, I just had this stirring, like I want to do more with Perrine Man.
43:29 Corey (Guest): And then I kind of backed up and was like, maybe I need to sell Perrine Man.
43:32 Corey (Guest): Cause truthfully, I was like, maybe it's just all too much.
43:36 Corey (Guest): Cause I was like working a lot.
43:39 Corey (Guest): And I kind of like was like, am I, what is going on?
43:43 Corey (Guest): This is crazy.
43:44 Corey (Guest): And as I was pondering those questions, I was kind of like, hey, I'm willing to do my job working with the youth for like for the rest of my life.
43:53 Corey (Guest): If that's what I'm called to, like I'm willing.
43:57 Corey (Guest): And I really was praying about it.
43:59 Corey (Guest): And I was like, I'm going to pray about this for 30 days.
44:02 Corey (Guest): And like five days in, I missed a day.
44:04 Corey (Guest): And I was like, well, that was lame.
44:05 Corey (Guest): I better start over.
44:06 Corey (Guest): This is a big deal to me.
44:07 Corey (Guest): And I got like 10 days in and I missed a day.
44:10 Corey (Guest): And I was like, oh my goodness, what's wrong with me?
44:12 Corey (Guest): This matters so much and I can't even like focus.
44:15 Corey (Guest): And then I really was like, maybe I need to be doing this with Kenji.
44:19 Corey (Guest): Like it's hers too, you know?
44:21 Corey (Guest): Like, what am I thinking?
44:22 Corey (Guest): Like, I'm just going to make this decision.
44:24 Corey (Guest): And so I started praying with her.
44:27 Corey (Guest): And after a little bit, she was like, man, I really feel like you're going to transition to doing Perrine Man full time.
44:33 Corey (Guest): To the opposite.
44:34 Zach (Host): And I
44:34 Corey (Guest): hadn't told her, I hadn't played my cards, but I was thinking the same thing.
44:39 Corey (Guest): And so I love when we're like affirmed in what we're feeling the vision is.
44:44 Corey (Guest): I think it's nice when people like speak some truth, even if it's scary truth, to be like, okay, that gives me a little oomph to like move forward in it.
44:53 Corey (Guest): And honestly, it's kind of a crazy story as it continued, because that was in the spring.
44:59 Corey (Guest): And then I saw a building pop up.
45:01 Corey (Guest): So I went and looked at it and they wanted just this crazy amount for that building.
45:05 Corey (Guest): And I was like, oh, can't do that, I don't think.
45:08 Corey (Guest): And I was trying to figure out a way to make it work.
45:10 Corey (Guest): And I really just didn't seem like the right fit.
45:12 Corey (Guest): And then I'm like watching the marketplace every week and looking for commercial buildings to rent.
45:18 Corey (Guest): And I was looking over kind of on pull line and looking downtown and looking, I even like looked in the Linwood, like I looked all over.
45:26 Corey (Guest): And this, the building we're in popped up and I messaged the person like, it popped up within like, like it been on there for 15 minutes or something like really short.
45:37 Corey (Guest): And I messaged them, they're like, you wanna go right now?
45:40 Corey (Guest): And I was like, it's 8.30 at night, is this weird?
45:43 Corey (Guest): And I was like, sure.
45:44 Corey (Guest): And so I drove, I just put Emmett to bed and I drove downtown and I looked at the building and I was like, this could be cool.
45:52 Corey (Guest): Is there brick behind those walls?
45:54 Corey (Guest): Is there this?
45:54 Corey (Guest): And I asked a bunch of questions.
45:55 Corey (Guest): She's like, I don't know, we bought this like a week ago.
46:00 Corey (Guest): And I was like, well, I'm really interested.
46:01 Corey (Guest): And she was like, well, let's have dinner next week, which is really cool for
46:05 Zach (Host): an owner of a building.
46:07 Corey (Guest): And she's like, I want you to meet my husband and we should talk.
46:10 Corey (Guest): I wanna know who you are and what you wanna do.
46:13 Corey (Guest): She kind of knew us in passing, but we didn't know her well.
46:18 Corey (Guest): And so, yeah, we went to dinner with them and felt really like confident about like, man, this feels good.
46:24 Corey (Guest): And I originally wanted 25 feet and I ended up renting like over 100 feet.
46:30 Corey (Guest): Part of that's their vision though.
46:31 Corey (Guest): Cause they came and saw us at a show and they met us and they're like, you need this whole space.
46:36 Zach (Host): Take
46:36 Corey (Guest): a risk and rent the whole thing.
46:38 Corey (Guest): And so they even spoke life into us, like do this.
46:42 Corey (Guest): And anyways, in the middle of that process, it was kind of interesting because we were like, we went and looked at the building and then I was leaving for a little vacation for two weeks.
46:52 Corey (Guest): And so we were at this beach house like that some people had actually like pitched in to help rent for us, which was
46:59 Zach (Host): really cool.
47:01 Corey (Guest): And we're there and while we were there, and I don't know like how much to share about this because people have different like opinions, but honestly, Kinch had this dream.
47:11 Corey (Guest): And in her dream, there was this sailboat that was like really pretty tied to this dock.
47:18 Corey (Guest): And it was this beautiful sunny day.
47:21 Corey (Guest): And she walked up with somebody and they cut the rope and the sailboat like went sailing.
47:26 Corey (Guest): And it was like this, she was like, it was like the most beautiful moment she'd seen.
47:30 Corey (Guest): And I was like, that's a cool dream.
47:31 Corey (Guest): And she goes, Cory, I think that like that dream's about you.
47:35 Corey (Guest): Like, I think you've been like prepared for what you're gonna do.
47:38 Corey (Guest): Like your job has been this docking place for you in life.
47:42 Corey (Guest): And she's like, I believe God's like had you there.
47:44 Corey (Guest): And it's been this awesome season that we get to celebrate.
47:47 Corey (Guest): And now you get to like, go do what you're called to do.
47:50 Corey (Guest): And it was like, holy cow, that was like the craziest dream for your
47:54 Zach (Host): wife to have.
47:56 Zach (Host): And it like made me
47:58 Corey (Guest): feel like so special, you know?
48:00 Corey (Guest): And then that next week when we got back, I called Sherry and Eric and said, hey, we'll rent the building.
48:07 Corey (Guest): And then we took 12,000 pounds to the dump out of that building and worked our butts off.
48:13 Corey (Guest): Yeah, oh
48:14 Zach (Host): man, I'm sitting here looking at some brick wall.
48:16 Zach (Host): I don't know what you're paying.
48:19 Zach (Host): Oh man, that is incredible.
48:21 Corey (Guest): Yeah,
48:22 Zach (Host): it's
48:22 Zach (Host): kind of special.
48:23 Zach (Host): It sounds like you have an incredible wife who believes in you.
48:27 Zach (Host): Like the one thing I think that's really interesting about your guys' story is you couldn't have done this without the other person.
48:33 Zach (Host): Totally.
48:34 Zach (Host): You know, like I'm not the biggest proponent of partnerships, but yours is like, on a business partnership level, like yours is a must.
48:45 Corey (Guest): Yeah, and it's been like, I mean, she's like my best friend.
48:51 Corey (Guest): And so like, it's also something I wanted to always like, ooh, should we do this?
48:55 Corey (Guest): You know, like protect.
48:56 Corey (Guest): And there's moments, like definitely.
48:59 Corey (Guest): But I'm so thankful that we get to be like best buds.
49:03 Corey (Guest): And she, you know, we just had another little guy, so she's not in the shop as much, but she's still drawn.
49:09 Corey (Guest): We have a new design that came out this week and we have a new one coming out next month and pretty exciting.
49:16 Corey (Guest): And yeah, and then, you know, a pandemic hit while we were gonna open our store.
49:22 Zach (Host): Yep, that's a good time for people to come into the store.
49:24 Zach (Host): You
49:24 Corey (Guest): know, when we started Prime Men,
49:26 Corey (Guest): we were having a baby.
49:28 Corey (Guest): My wife was quitting her job.
49:30 Corey (Guest): So then the second time when we start the retail store, it was like, you know what?
49:34 Corey (Guest): We're gonna have another baby.
49:36 Corey (Guest): We're gonna have a pandemic and we're gonna open a retail store and quit my job.
49:42 Corey (Guest): So, you know, it was just kind of when you,
49:44 Corey (Guest): you know.
49:44 Zach (Host): That's so how it works.
49:46 Zach (Host): It was crazy.
49:46 Zach (Host): I
49:46 Zach (Host): mean, I could tell you many of those stories with us and I feel God's funny that way.
49:51 Zach (Host): I think he makes it to where you are required to put your trust in him.
49:56 Zach (Host): You know what I mean?
49:57 Zach (Host): When it's that big thing, like you have to.
50:00 Zach (Host): I think that's a big deal.
50:02 Zach (Host): One question I had for you is throughout this process, what's been the hardest thing?
50:06 Corey (Guest): The hardest thing, hmm.
50:10 Corey (Guest): I mean, definitely there's lots of pieces of the puzzle.
50:18 Corey (Guest): Like I definitely don't know everything and I don't have the answer to everything.
50:23 Corey (Guest): And I think maybe part of my gifting is I love hate, the puzzle, you know, like I love figuring it all out and there's hard pieces with it.
50:33 Corey (Guest): I, oh man, that's a good question.
50:36 Corey (Guest): The hardest part is probably like, I think you have to get out of the way sometimes.
50:46 Corey (Guest): And I think we want to make something work so bad sometimes in life that it's, for me, I like, I wanna figure it all out, like every piece sometimes, but really like, it's like the journey.
51:02 Corey (Guest): And that used to be the hard part for me, I guess is what I should say.
51:06 Corey (Guest): Like I really wanted to know like, well, how many shirts do you take to this show?
51:10 Corey (Guest): Like, do you take 20 mediums or do you take 15 or do you take,
51:14 Zach (Host): you know,
51:14 Corey (Guest): and there's a, it doesn't seem like that matters that much, but like you do need to know, like you have to have a little bit of a guess about all that and you're always wrong a little bit.
51:25 Corey (Guest): Because at this show, Blackout Perrine Man is like the shirt.
51:30 Corey (Guest): And then at this show, Olive Perrine Man is the shirt.
51:32 Corey (Guest): And you're like, what?
51:34 Corey (Guest): Like they're back
51:35 Zach (Host): -to-back weekends.
51:37 Corey (Guest): Like sometimes you do a back-to-back shows and then you're like, why was this popular versus this?
51:41 Corey (Guest): And I don't really always have the answer to that.
51:44 Corey (Guest): So it used to be really hard for me to be like, I was like overwhelmed by like, what do we do?
51:51 Corey (Guest): And I think you just have to do it.
51:53 Corey (Guest): You have to go and
51:55 Zach (Host): you got to do it.
51:56 Corey (Guest): And you'll figure it out, you know?
51:58 Corey (Guest): And not saying you don't need to think, but I'm just saying like, go do it.
52:02 Corey (Guest): And like, stop getting in your way.
52:04 Corey (Guest): Like I hear there's a young guy who works for me.
52:07 Corey (Guest): He's a super guy.
52:08 Corey (Guest): Like he's awesome.
52:09 Corey (Guest): His name's Ben.
52:10 Corey (Guest): He's super talented.
52:12 Corey (Guest): And the other day we were just chatting and he's like, man, I really wish I could do this, but this and this and this and this.
52:19 Corey (Guest): And I just like, really was like, hey dude, I get how you feel.
52:23 Corey (Guest): Like probably more than you realize.
52:25 Corey (Guest): Cause I felt that way with Perrine Man for a lot of years before I did it.
52:30 Corey (Guest): I just want to encourage you.
52:32 Corey (Guest): Do it.
52:33 Corey (Guest): When is the right time?
52:34 Corey (Guest): You can stop giving yourself reasons why not to and start giving yourself reasons to just do it.
52:41 Corey (Guest): And I don't know.
52:43 Corey (Guest): Now it's so different for me.
52:45 Corey (Guest): Cause even our crew's like, hey, do you want to try it?
52:48 Corey (Guest): I'm like, just, let's just do it, you know?
52:50 Corey (Guest): And I'm a little, it's easier for me to do it now cause you practice it and you learn, so.
52:56 Zach (Host): Made for More keeps coming to my mind with you.
52:58 Zach (Host): And it's obviously a mission of Perrine Man and you believe in inspiring people and helping them bring their best.
53:06 Zach (Host): And what I think is kind of interesting is you had to get through that, right?
53:11 Zach (Host): And then through the faith of some good people around you, you know, you mentioned your friends, they kind of spoke that over you and called that out of you and here you are helping other people do it.
53:19 Corey (Guest): Yeah, yeah, it's cool.
53:21 Corey (Guest): I mean, yeah, that Made for More thing is definitely like a heart piece of it.
53:26 Corey (Guest): Perrine Man's like, Perrine Man's definitely a heart thing for me too, though.
53:29 Corey (Guest): I don't know why I like, love Perrine Man.
53:31 Zach (Host): And
53:31 Corey (Guest): I'm like, he's just, he's my man, you know?
53:34 Corey (Guest): He's our brand now.
53:35 Corey (Guest): And even when we first started Perrine Man, we weren't going to call it Perrine Man at first.
53:40 Corey (Guest): And even submitted a thing for a different name
53:45 Zach (Host): and
53:45 Corey (Guest): felt like, what were we thinking?
53:47 Corey (Guest): We got to change it.
53:48 Corey (Guest): And I called and I was like, listen, we submitted an LLC under this name.
53:53 Corey (Guest): We want it to be a different name.
53:55 Corey (Guest): And I'm on the phone with the lady and she goes, I don't know, you might have to do this and this and this.
53:59 Corey (Guest): And let me see if it's gone through yet.
54:01 Corey (Guest): Because it was like the week we'd done it.
54:04 Corey (Guest): And she goes, actually, it's on my desk.
54:06 Corey (Guest): So if you do it right now, I'll change it right now.
54:09 Corey (Guest): And I was actually, Kenji had a doctor's appointment and I was in the car on the phone at this doctor's appointment.
54:15 Corey (Guest): And I was just talking to her and she's like, what do you want it to be?
54:19 Corey (Guest): And I was like, Perrine Man Press.
54:21 Corey (Guest): And she goes, what, like the bridge in Twin?
54:25 Corey (Guest): And I was like, yes.
54:26 Corey (Guest): And she's like, that's cool, what is it?
54:28 Corey (Guest): And then she asked me all these questions and it was kind of a fun thing because she knew what it was and she's not in Twin.
54:36 Corey (Guest): And yeah, so it's kind of fun how it all pans out.
54:41 Zach (Host): Full circle, I love it.
54:43 Zach (Host): One of the questions we always ask our people is what makes you a ruckus maker?
54:48 Corey (Guest): What makes us a ruckus maker?
54:51 Corey (Guest): Can you read your definition of that?
54:53 Corey (Guest): Is that okay right now?
54:54 Corey (Guest): Can
54:54 Zach (Host): I hear it again?
54:56 Zach (Host): You know, one thing that we're doing is we're bringing people on with missions, right?
55:01 Zach (Host): And people that make a ruckus go against the grain and they don't do what culture would normally say is normal.
55:08 Zach (Host): And one thing for your business that I would define as not normal is you have a mission behind what you do.
55:13 Zach (Host): Like it's not about selling T-shirts.
55:14 Zach (Host): It has nothing to do with selling T-shirts.
55:17 Zach (Host): And so when I look at that, I see you.
55:20 Zach (Host): The reason why we asked you to be here is because you're going against the grain.
55:25 Zach (Host): It's different, right?
55:26 Zach (Host): Because we can think of a hundred T-shirt companies, but there's a reason why Perrine Man Press feels different when you walk in the store.
55:32 Corey (Guest): Oh, that's cool, man.
55:33 Corey (Guest): Well, I love your encouragement in that.
55:35 Corey (Guest): I think, you know, what makes us that way?
55:40 Corey (Guest): I mean, I really do like, I think like God is for people and maybe our definitions of like what we believe in in life and different things of like, they get mixed up or messy and stuff.
55:55 Corey (Guest): And I think God really put on our hearts like be a light and be different in that.
56:00 Corey (Guest): But I also, like my life was not perfect by any means, you know?
56:07 Corey (Guest): And so like I have a heart for where people are sometimes, you know?
56:11 Corey (Guest): And I wanna be there.
56:13 Corey (Guest): Like even the other day, this little girl came into our store and she was talking to me about drawing T-shirts and she's like, I like to draw, you know?
56:23 Corey (Guest): And I was like, you know, my wife draws all these pictures and she was all excited about it.
56:28 Corey (Guest): And her mom's like, see, you could keep drawing.
56:30 Corey (Guest): You could do something like this with your life.
56:32 Corey (Guest): And I was like, you should.
56:33 Corey (Guest): And we're chatting and she goes, yeah, so sorry.
56:36 Corey (Guest): Like she's recently lost like a person in her life.
56:41 Corey (Guest): And so this little girl, I don't know how old she was.
56:44 Corey (Guest): I would guess she's 10.
56:46 Corey (Guest): And I was like, who'd you lose in your life?
56:48 Corey (Guest): And she goes, my dad.
56:50 Corey (Guest): And I go, you know, my wife, she lost her dad when she was like 12.
56:56 Corey (Guest): And that's part of the reason she drew all the time.
56:58 Corey (Guest): And now look what she gets to do.
57:00 Corey (Guest): And she's so kind and she dealt with things so well.
57:04 Corey (Guest): And you grieve and how do you grieve well?
57:07 Corey (Guest): Because it's a messy thing.
57:09 Corey (Guest): But it was cool, this little girl.
57:11 Corey (Guest): And I'm like, oh, I wish Kenj was here to share this story with this girl.
57:15 Corey (Guest): And she just starts crying.
57:16 Corey (Guest): And I get to hook her up with some stickers and some Prime Men stuff.
57:19 Corey (Guest): And her mom was like, oh my goodness.
57:22 Corey (Guest): Like, I haven't seen her cry yet.
57:25 Corey (Guest): Like
57:25 Zach (Host): she lost
57:26 Corey (Guest): her dad.
57:27 Corey (Guest): And this little girl hadn't even cried yet.
57:28 Corey (Guest): And it's like, holy cow.
57:30 Corey (Guest): Like we all have influence in life.
57:33 Zach (Host): And to be able to share
57:34 Corey (Guest): that story like to this little girl and be like,
57:37 Corey (Guest): and even point at my wall, like that's an easy way for me to be like, hey, I believe that about you.
57:43 Corey (Guest): Like you're made for more.
57:44 Corey (Guest): And for her like crying my store and me be like, oh, I'm so proud of you and keep hanging in there.
57:50 Corey (Guest): Like life is so much more than the hustle and bustle of selling T's.
57:53 Corey (Guest): Like I want you to like, if you're gonna buy a T-shirt, like what's the reason to buy a T-shirt?
57:57 Corey (Guest): Well, I wanna wear it.
57:58 Corey (Guest): It's like, okay, well, let's make stuff people wanna wear.
58:01 Corey (Guest): Let's not just make T-shirts.
58:02 Corey (Guest): Like, let's make something you wanna wear that you enjoy wearing.
58:06 Corey (Guest): Let's make a soft T-shirt that's cool.
58:08 Corey (Guest): But like, let's care about our people.
58:10 Corey (Guest): Like, honestly, if you wanna come have a free cup of coffee every day, like I'm cool with that.
58:15 Corey (Guest): Like I doesn't, it's all good.
58:17 Corey (Guest): And so I don't know, like, I don't know if I just got on too big of a like tangent, but like for the ruckus maker thing, I really believe that like everybody has a story and everybody has purpose and everybody can like press into that or not.
58:38 Corey (Guest): That's the crazy thing.
58:39 Corey (Guest): Like, I know we're in a good, we're in a season and culture when we're like lifting up some good things, but I also think we don't admit the fact that like, I could also just be a bum.
58:50 Corey (Guest): Like, like me, like I could just sit around.
58:53 Corey (Guest): Like, and there's weird things in me that like almost could do that.
58:59 Corey (Guest): And I like wanna fight against, I wanna like, let's do something with our lives.
59:02 Corey (Guest): Like, I don't wanna waste my life.
59:05 Corey (Guest): Like we're living in, I believe that like life is full, but life is good.
59:13 Corey (Guest): Like I love where we're at in life.
59:16 Corey (Guest): And so I wanna encourage people like, yeah, go, go do it.
59:21 Corey (Guest): Like, go have a full, good life.
59:23 Corey (Guest): You know, someday when I'm like, you know, if I ever get to be like some old person sitting in a rocking chair with my best
59:30 Zach (Host): friend
59:31 Corey (Guest): and Kenji and I are sitting out there talking to Haley in our rocking chairs someday, I wanna look back and be like, man, look at all that God did in our lives.
59:40 Corey (Guest): I don't wanna be like, I wish we would've.
59:44 Corey (Guest): Like, I wanna look back and like cherish like the crazy, like, oh, we took this weird risk and we went to Alaska.
59:51 Corey (Guest): Like, that was weird.
59:52 Corey (Guest): Like, what?
59:53 Corey (Guest): And we're like, that was such a cool season.
59:55 Corey (Guest): And then like, oh, we got to work at Lighthouse and like pour into people.
59:59 Corey (Guest): And I loved that season.
1:00:00 Corey (Guest): And I wanna celebrate that season.
1:00:02 Corey (Guest): And I really did like, I gave a year's notice, which sounds weird to people, but it was like, no, I care about this place.
1:00:08 Corey (Guest): Like, I wanna leave well.
1:00:11 Corey (Guest): And I really care about what I'm gonna do too.
1:00:13 Corey (Guest): And so it's like, how do I transition well?
1:00:16 Corey (Guest): And I wanna, I wouldn't have done all that without like people giving wisdom and people being a huge part of it.
1:00:26 Corey (Guest): I even love being on your little show.
1:00:27 Corey (Guest): Like,
1:00:28 Zach (Host): how cool is this?
1:00:29 Zach (Host): You know, thank you so much.
1:00:30 Zach (Host): You're making a difference, really.
1:00:34 Zach (Host): Like, businesses and people that have missions deserve to be highlighted.
1:00:38 Zach (Host): And that's why we do this show is because people like you, we wanna keep putting that message out there, right?
1:00:43 Zach (Host): It's better than the hate and dissension of other messages.
1:00:47 Zach (Host): So we wanna make you famous.
1:00:50 Corey (Guest): No, thanks, man.
1:00:51 Zach (Host): Awesome, well, it's been a great show.
1:00:53 Zach (Host): I wanna say thank you, Corey, for being here.
1:00:54 Zach (Host): Thank you for your time.
1:00:55 Zach (Host): You are making a difference and we are so honored to have you on the show.
1:00:58 Zach (Host): Thank you.
1:01:00 Zach (Host): Hey, everyone.
1:01:01 Zach (Host): Thanks for joining us today.
1:01:02 Zach (Host): If you enjoyed getting to know the mission behind Perrine Man Press, stop by their store on Main Street in Twin Falls, follow them on social to see all their great stuff.
1:01:10 Zach (Host): Remember that even the most simple businesses can have a huge impact.
1:01:14 Zach (Host): It's so much more than just selling a T-shirt for Perrine Man.
1:01:16 Zach (Host): Your business was meant to make a difference.
1:01:18 Zach (Host): You were made for more.
1:01:20 Zach (Host): Life is short, make a rise.
